I had counted on being weather bound something like 1 day in 20.  Being an optimist had me assuming that 1 day in 20 would after 19 good days.

Winds gusting to 67 kmh in the river kept pinned down at Mission Bridge and up most of the night trying to keep the tent from blowing away. The rain started in earnest late afternoon well before the wind set in and while visiting with friends and family, I neglected to remove my gear from the canoe until it was time to make camp.

The cover is a veritable work of art but not waterproof. All my gear was swimming puddles and thoroughly soaked. Note to self: Gear before beer.

I struggled with staying out for a day, but figured the forecast wasn’t good enough to get around Sumas Mountain. Turns out I got that part right at least and the day was well spent getting some necessary  bits and pieces.

1 down, 20 good to go.
