Easy Miles

Easy Miles

My route through all of BC consists of exactly two downstream paddles totalling less than two and a half days.

The Similkameen we know about. The section of the Shuswap from Enderby to Marla Lake is the second downstream paddle. Absent are the rapids requiring lining or worse, a portage. Present are a series of meanders that add about a third to the total distance.

It was a quick easy paddle that made for easy miles. The picture above is where I stopped for lunch and spent an hour basking in the sun.

I was in Sicamous a few hours later. The trick is getting the canoe going fast enough to launch it up on the dock with you still in it.
