My route through all of BC consists of exactly two downstream paddles totalling less than two and a half days.
The Similkameen we know about. The section of the Shuswap from Enderby to Marla Lake is the second downstream paddle. Absent are the rapids requiring lining or worse, a portage. Present are a series of meanders that add about a third to the total distance.
It was a quick easy paddle that made for easy miles. The picture above is where I stopped for lunch and spent an hour basking in the sun.
I was in Sicamous a few hours later. The trick is getting the canoe going fast enough to launch it up on the dock with you still in it.
